Strengthening Food Security & Farmer Livelihoods

Food insecurity remains a major challenge for many communities in Liberia. Although the country has significant agricultural potential and fertile soils, many smallholder farmers continue to experience low productivity due to limited access to quality seeds, tools, agricultural knowledge, financial services, and markets.

SPDI addresses these challenges by supporting smallholder farmers to:

  • Adopt improved and sustainable farming techniques.
  • Grow diverse and nutritious crops.
  • Access quality agricultural inputs and tools.
  • Receive practical, on-site training and regular coaching.
  • Improve household nutrition and food security.
  • Connect with markets and strengthen income opportunities.
  • Build more resilient and sustainable livelihoods.

Our approach places women, youth, and people living with disabilities at the center of agricultural development, helping them become active contributors to their households and local economies.
